Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

For the evaluation of this endpoint data from one handbook (CRC handbook, 2008) was used as key information. Information on the boiling point of strontium chloride was also stated in the older version of the handbook (CRC handbook, 1974). However, this version only stated that the substance has a boiling point of 1250°C, but the atmospheric pressure at which the boiling point was measured was not stated. For this reason the information from the older CRC version was used as supporting information.

According to the REACH regulation ("ECHA, guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment - chapter R.7.a"), it is allowed to use specific handbook data as a reliable data source. Useful reference books and data compliations containing peer reviewed physico-chemical data include the CRC handbook of Chemistry and Physics.

Data available from the CRC handbook stated that strontium chrloide has a boiling point of 1250°C at 101325 Pa.
