Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In an earthworm reproduction test no mortality of adult worms was observed in the controls and at all replicates with test substance. Therefore, the NOECmortality has been determined to be >= 1000 mg/kg soil dw. The EC10 on reproduction (by count of juvenile worms) has been determined to be 668 mg/kg soil dw.

Additional information

A GLP guideline study according OECD 222 using Eisenia fetida has been conducted (BASF SE 2016). Mortality, body weight development (28 days after application) and reproduction (56 days after application) has been tested. The test substance is solid and poorly soluble in water. In order to obtain an evenly distribution of the test item in the substrate, required amounts of test substance were weighed in portions of quartz sand. After thoroughly mixing, these mixtures were blended with the prepared test substrate and mixed well again. Afterwards portions of the treated test substrate were distributed to the test vessels.

After 28 days of exposure no mortality of adult worms was observed in the controls and at all replicates with test substance. After 56 days the effects on reroduction was determined by count of juvenile worms. The EC10 was determined to be 668 mg/kg soil dw. The EC50 was determined to be > 1000 mg/kg soil dw.

All validity criteria were met.
