Under the conditions of this study the melting range of the test material was from 182.4 to 219.8°C °C. The single point melting temperature was 196.4°C.
Executive summary:

The melting point of the test material was investigated in accordance with the standardised guideline OECD 102.


A capillary tube, filled with the test material, was placed in a heated metal block. The temperature rise was adjusted to a suitable preselected linear rate. A beam of light was directed through the sample to a photocell. On melting of the sample, the intensity of the light reaching the photocell increases and a stop signal was sent to the digital indicator reading out the temperature of the heating chamber. 


 


Under the conditions of this study the melting range of the test material was from 182.4 to 219.8 °C. The single point melting temperature was 196.4°C.
