Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

Structural analogues like EDTA-FeNa and EDTA-CuNa2 have not shown any skin sensitisation potential, i.e. read-across from supporting substance (structural analogue or surrogate) In addition, because of their structure, these substances are expected to have very low skin penetration (see also read across document in section 13). As EDTA-Fe(NH4)NH4OH is structurally related to EDTA-FeNa to a very large extent, data of EDTA-FeNa were used for read across. Based on read across with EDTA-FeNa, EDTA-Fe(NH4)NH4OH was not considered to be sensitizing to the skin.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Additional information:

No data available.

Justification for classification or non-classification

A key study with a very related substance did not show signs of sensitisation. Therefore classification for skin sensitization of EDTA-Fe(NH4)NH4OH is not warranted either.
