Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

All studies were conducted in accordance with international standard guidelines, namely the OECD and EU commission guidelines. The studies were conducted to GLP standards in GLP certified laboratories (Authors: Hazardous physical chemical properties, Tremain & Atwal (2010); General physical chemical properties, Butler & White (2010). The results are as follows (with discussion where necessary):

Appearance = Clear amber liquid, earthy odour

Melting point = -20°C (253 K)

Boiling temperature = 176°C (449 K)

Relative density = 1.09 at 20.2°C

Surface tension = 66.2 mN/m (at 1.05 g/L solution) at 20°C

Water solubility = miscible, guidelines had deviation due to the substances high solubility. It was not possible to create a 5 times saturation stock. At all proportions the substance was observed to dissolve.

Partition-coefficient log Pow = < 0.3 - > 6.5; 58 % of the substance had a log Pow over 3. The determination of log Pow at pH 7 using a calculation from log Pow at pH 11 was considered not possible.

Viscosity = 2.137 * 10^3 and 5.374 * 10^2 mPa.s at 20 and 40°C

Vapour pressure = 13 pa at 25°C

Flash point = 126°C

Explosive properties = none

Auto-ignition = none to 400°C

Oxidising properties = none
