Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

There are no many data available on 2-chloro-5-nitrobenzoic acid, thus some properties were predicted using the ACD/Labs’ ACD/PhysChem Suite and the US Environmental Protection Agency’s EPISuite™ and a read across on structural analogues approach has been evaluated in order tooutline an (eco)toxicological profile most complete as possible and to elaborate an appropriate C&L.

Substances considered for read across are 4-chloro-3-nitrobenzoic acid (CAS: 96-99-1; EC: 202-550-9) and 3-nitrobenzoic acid (CAS: 121-92-6; EC: 204-508-5).

Biodegradation is not expected to be an important fate for 2-chloro-5-nitrobenzoic acid, on the base of the read across with 3-nitrobenzoic acid, and the BCF value of c.a. 3.2 suggests that the potential for bioconcentration in aquatic organisms is low (EPISuite and secondary source HSDB).

Any details about data available are reported in the report attached at the point 13: Assessment Report.
