Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

Intradermal sensitization test in the guinea pig and is comparable to a guideline study and well detailed. None of the 10 guinea pigs in the study show a positve response when challenges with 1 -nitropropane.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
One key study was identified assessing the skin sensitization potential of 1-nitropropane in the guinea pig. The protocol was comparable to a guideline study.

Justification for classification or non-classification

None of the animals that were challenge with 1 -nitropropane after the induction phase showed any evidence of skin sensitization. Therefore, 1 -nitropropane is not sensitizing in the guinea pig and is not classifiable.
