One key study was identified assessing the skin sensitization potential of 1-nitropropane in the guinea pig. The protocol was comparable to a guideline study.
Justification for classification or non-classification
None of the animals that were challenge with 1 -nitropropane after the induction phase showed any evidence of skin sensitization. Therefore, 1 -nitropropane is not sensitizing in the guinea pig and is not classifiable.
