Description of key information

The mean boiling point of the test item (on 2 assays) was : 284.9°C+/-0.5°C at 101.325kPa.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
284.9 °C

Additional information

The test to determine boiling temperature of MEXORYL SBF was conducted in compliance with the OECD guideline 103 and the EU method A.2.

The Differential Scanning Calorimetry method (DSC) was used to determine the temperature at which the vapour pressure of the liquid is equal to 101.325 kPa, the normal atmospheric pressure, heating it under nitrogen and at the atmospheric pressure.

The mean value for the boiling point of the test item (on 2 assays) was : 284.9 +/-0.5°C at 101.325 kPa,

A complementary using the kofler hot bench method was performed and had tendency to confirm the values obtained with the DSC method.

This result was considered as reliable without restrictions because it was in compliance with GLP and international guidelines and was retained as key data for purpose of CSA.
