Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move affected person from the immediate area. Ensure supply
of fresh air. In case of persisting adverse affects seek
immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Separate eyelids, wash the eyes thoroughly with water (15
min.). In case of persisting adverse effects seek immediate
medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Removed contaminated shoes and clothing immediately.
Irrigate affected skin thoroughly with water for at least 10
minutes, and continue for a further 10 minutes if there is
any evidence of burns. Seek prompt medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam; Carbon dioxide; extinguishing powder; water jet spray
Product arising from burning: Carbon Monoxide, Carbon dioxide, Nitrogen oxides and
Hydrogen Cyanide may be produced
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective
clothing.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Personal precautions
Refer to protective measures listed in Safety data sheet.
Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid dust formation. Keep
away sources of ignition.
Environmental precautions
Do not discharge into the drains/surface water/ground water.
Methods for cleaning up/taking up
Pick up mechanically. When picked up, treat material as
follows:
Product
Allocation of waste code number, according to the European
Waste Catalogue, should be carried out in agreement with the
regional waste disposal company.
Packaging
Residuals must be removed from packaging and when emptied
completely disposed of in accordance with the regulations
for waste removal. Incompletely emptied packaging must be
disposed of in the form of disposal specified by the
regional disposer.
Handling and storage
Handling: Wear chemical resistant clothing and footwear, impervious
vinyl gloves, chemical resistant goggles and synthetic fibre
dust respirator with activated carbon filter.
Local exhaust ventilation should be employed.
Personal protective equipment:
Respiratory protection
If workplace exposure limits are exceeded, respiration
protection approved for this particular job must be worn.
Hand protection
In case of intensive contact wear protective gloves (EN
374). Sufficient protection is given wearing suitable
protective gloves in according to i.e. EN 374, in the event
of risk of skin contact with the product. Before use, the
protective glove should be tested in any case for its
specific work-station suitability (i.e. mechanical
resistance, product compatibility and antistatic
properties). Adhere to the manufacturer's instructions and
information relating to the use, storage, care and
replacement of protective gloves. Protective gloves shall be
replaced immediately when physically damaged or worn.
Design operations to avoid permanent use of protective
gloves.
Appropriate Material nitrile
Material thickness >0,3 mm
Breakthrough time >480 min.
Appropriate Material rubber
Material thickness >0,5 mm
Breakthrough time >240 min.
Eye protection
Safety glasses (EN 166)
Skin protection
Clothing as usual in the chemical industry.
General protective and hygiene measures
Do not eat, drink or smoke during work time. Keep away from
foodstuffs and beverages. Wash hands before breaks and after
work. Have eye wash fountain available. Do not inhale dust.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place in the dark. Ensure containers
are resealed after use. Avoid contact with acids and
oxidizing agents.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 1 kg tin plated stainless steel cans
