First-aid measures
give oxygen or mouth to mouth resuscitation. Keep warm and
at rest. Obtain medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash thoroughly with water and continue for at least 15
minutes. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and launder before re-use.
Thoroughly wash all affected areas with soap and water. Seek
immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out mouth and give large quantities of water to drink.
Seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon, sulfur
and nitrogen together with some soot.

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.
Fight the fire from a safe distance or protected location.
Accidental release measures
Wear an air-fed suit designed to protect the head and skin,
plastic gloves and rubber boots.
Avoid dust formation. Absorb spillages of solutions with a
suitable inert material (eg. sand or soil). Carefully
transfer the spillage to waste containers, or use a sealed
industrial vacuum machine. Containers filled with waste
material must be labelled in the same way as the original
substance containers.
Clean the spillage area with water and detergent. Avoid
washing spillages to the drain.
Dispose of waste material in accordance with local
regulations by incineration, as specified in section 6.1.3.
Handling and storage
conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with
any local regulations in order to avoid exposure by skin and
eye contact.
The substance may also have a strong explosion potential
when suspended in air. All handling operations should be
conducted so as to minimise the generation of both dust
clouds and electrostatic discharge.
Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the
substance.
When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled,
appropriate personal protective equipment such as air-fed
protective suit designed to protect head and skin
(CA/25/91), plastic gloves (BS 1651) and rubber boots (BS
1570) should be used.
Storage: Store in a dry well ventilated area at or below room
temperature in clearly labelled sealed containers.
Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Double polythene bags inside fibre board kegs.

substance in air may have a strong explosion potential.

Disposal considerations
minor spillages or accidental discharge is not economically
or technically feasible, and such waste material will be
disposed of by incineration. In principle, it may be
possible to recover larger spillages of uncontaminated
material for subsequent use.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The notification tests have shown that the substance is
dangerous to the environment.
The potential dust explosion hazard will be reduced by using
appropriate storage and handling procedures to minimise the
generation of both dust clouds and electrostatic discharge.
No chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise the
hazardous environmental properties.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with
inert material (eg. sand or soil) will be disposed of by
incineration.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning
under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment
processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases
should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg. carbon,
nitrogen and sulphur oxides) could be formed.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly to
the sewage system or the aqueous environment. However,
adverse effects on sewage treatment systems would be
unlikely.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable since the substance will not become available
to the public at large.
