Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
GENERAL ADVICE
Remove victim out of the danger area. Change contaminated, saturated clothing. When in doubt, or if symptoms are observed, seek medical advice.
INHALATION
Remove victim to fresh air and keep warm and at rest. In case of respiratory tract irritation, consult a physician.
CONTACT WITH SKIN
Wash area immediately with plenty of soap and water. If skin reactions develop, consult a physician.
EYE CONTACT
If in eyes, flush eyes immediately with plenty of running water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart. Consult an ophthalmologist.
INGESTION
If swallowed, if conscious, rinse the mouth with plenty of water and obtain immediate medical attention. Water can be drunk in little sips (dilution).
IMPORTANT SYMPTOMS AND EFFECTS (ACUTE AND DELAYED)
No information available
INDICATION OF ANY IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION AND SPECIAL TREATMENT REQUIRED
None. Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA
Sand, foam, carbon dioxide (CO2), dry extinguishing powder.
UNSUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA
High power water jet.
SPECIAL HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE SUBSTANCE
None.
ADVICE FOR FIREFIGHTERS
In case of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Do not inhale explosion and combustion gases. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow water to enter drains or surface water.
Accidental release measures
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS, PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
Use personal protective equipment. Remove all sources of ignition. Provide adequate ventilation.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS
Do not allow to enter drains or surface water. Prevent spread over a wide area (diking or oil barriers). Retain any contaminated water used to clean the area, and dispose as chemical waste. In case of gas escape or entry into waterways, soil or drains, inform the relevant responsible authorities.
METHODS FOR CONTAINMENT AND CLEANING SPILLAGES
Absorb with liquid-binding material (e.g. sand, diatomaceous earth, acid- or universal binding agents).
Handling and storage
PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING
All work places should be designed to exclude inhalation of vapours or sprays/mists and skin and eye contact.
Good hygiene practices should be observed. If local exhaust ventilation is not possible or insufficient, then the entire workspace should be ventilated.
PROTECTIVE MEASURES
- Fire Prevention:
Keep away from sources of ignition. No smoking.
- Advice for General Occupational Hygiene:
When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Do not sniff the substance. Wash hands after handling.
CONDITIONS FOR SAFE STORAGE, INCLUDING ANY INCOMPATABILITIES
Floors should be impervious, resistant to liquids and easy to clean. Provide retaining containers e.g. floor pans without outflows. Store only in original container. Keep container tightly closed. Ensure adequate ventilation of the storage area.
FURTHER INFORMATION ON STORAGE CONDITIONS
Protect against heat, UV radiation/sunlight.

Exposure controls / personal protection
1. Technical protection measures
None
2. Organisational protection measures
As a minimum, standard preventative measures while handling and working with materials (e.g. in compliance with TRGS 500).
3. Hand protection
PVC (polyvinyl chloride) gloves with long cuffs in compliance with DIN EN 374
4. Feet protection:
No specific personal protective equipment recommended.
5. Body protection:
No specific personal protective equipment recommended.
6. Eye protection
Safety glasses with side splash protection
7. Respiratory protection
If workplace exhaust or ventilation is insufficient, respiratory protection must be worn.
Suitable respiratory protection apparatus: Combination filtering Device (EN 14387)
Additional measures for respiratory protection: Filter types A, B, C and K.
Class 1: maximum permitted contaminant concentration in inhaled air = 1000 mL/m³ (0.1 % by vol.)
Class 2: Maximum permitted contaminant concentration in inhaled air = 5000 mL/m³ (0.5 % by vol.)
Class 3: Maximum permitted contaminant concentration in inhaled air = 10,000 mL/m³ (1.0 % by vol.)
Remarks: Use only respiratory protection equipment with the CE-symbol and the four digit test number. Observe the wear time limits in accordance with local regulations (e.g. GefStoffV) in combination with rules for the use of respiratory protection apparatus (e.g. BGR 190).
Stability and reactivity
STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
Stable under recommended storage and handling conditions.
REACTIVITY
No information available.
CHEMICAL STABILITY
Decomposition takes place at temperatures above 230 °C.
