Oxidising properties
Administrative data
- Endpoint:
- oxidising liquids
- Study period:
- 14 February 2013 to 14 April 2014
- Data waiving:
- study scientifically not necessary / other information available
- Justification for data waiving:
- the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance contains oxygen or halogen atoms which are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Results and discussion
Any other information on results incl. tables
The oxygen balance of Methylfuranoside, C9H16O4with molecular weight of 188.22.
This value is outside the region where there may be a potential for the test substance to be considered an oxidiser.
In the case of Methylfuranoside the chemical structure of the test substance indicates the test substance is unlikely to possess oxidising properties as all the oxygen atoms it contains are bonded to carbon and there are no oxidising enhancing groups present.
Methylfuranoside is therefore not considered to be likely to show oxidising properties.
