Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Administration of oxygen or fresh air. Seek medical

attention. Medical supervision at least 48 hours.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with copious amounts of water under open eyelid for

several minutes. Protect unaffected eye. Seek medical

attention. Medical supervision at least 48 hours.

Emergency measure - Skin: Take off contaminated clothing immediately. Wash affected

areas with copious amounts of water. Seek medical attention.

Medical supervision at least 48 hours.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water. Afterwards drink plenty amounts of

water. Seek medical attention. Medical supervision for at

least 48 hours.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Adjust extinguishing operations according to the

environment.

Dry powder, foam and carbon dioxide

Product arising from burning: Residues of combustion and contaminated water for fire

protection have to be disposed according to competent

authority regulations.

Phosphorous oxides, hydrogen chloride gas, carbon oxides

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Circulating air independent respirator.

Avoid inhaling of evolving explosion and fire gases.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear personnel protective clothing. Avoid dust formation.

Keep unprotected persons away. Remove all ignition sources.

Take up mechanically. Use appropriate vacuum cleaner for

absorption.

Do not drain into surface water of canalisation.

Handling and storage

Handling: Handle only in rooms with plain, seamless floors . Avoid

exposition - gather instructions before use. Protect against

air moisture and water.

All working methods must always be designed so that skin and

eye contact with the substance are excluded. Inhalation of

the substance must be avoided. Closed equipment should be

used during filling and metered feeding as well as during

sampling. In the case of handling in open systems, if

applicable, any dust or vapours (HCl) that can form should

be extracted directly at the point of origin. The extracted

air should only be returned to the work area after adequate

cleaning using tested equipment. If technical extraction or

ventilation measures are not possible or are insufficient,

respiratory protection (see below) should be worn. Even if

skin contact is only possible for short periods, tested

protective gloves (see below) and suitable protective

clothing (e.g. :::) must be worn. Safe eye protection (see

below) is absolutely essential. Adequate washing facilities

should be available in the immediate vicinity of the work

area and eye douches should be made available and their

location indicated conspicuously. Adequate washing

facilities should be available in the immediate vicinity of

the work area and eye douches should be made available and

their location indicated conspicuously. After contact with

the skin, as far as possible, the affected parts of the skin

should be wiped completely dry and then cleaned thoroughly

with :::. Contaminated clothing must be changed immediately.

Special skin-protection and skin-care measures are

recommended. A skin-protection plan must be drawn up.

Outdoor clothing should be kept separate from working

clothes.

Personal protective equipment:

- full protective-mask (EN 136) with ABEK-P3 filter P2 (EN

141)

- protective gloves category III (EN 374), e.g. PVA,

synthetic material, synthetic or natural rubber

- tightly fitting goggles (with lateral protection), not

necessary if full protection mask is used).

Industrial hygiene:

Protect against heat and keep away from ignition sources.

Wash hands before breaks and at work finishing time.

Storage: Keep containers tightly closed and store dry.

Static discharges must be avoided. Protect container from

heat and direct insolation. Open handling without suitable

personel protective equipment must be avoided. Avoid

formation of dust. Keep away from nourishments, beverage and

animal food.

Protect against air moisture and water.

Storage Class: flammable, toxic solid
