Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Physico-chemical properties of the registered substance were determined from experimental testing except Vapour Pressure, Octanol-Water Partition Coefficient and Water Solubility that were calculated by a validated QSAR model. Some other endpoints were waived, based on chemical structure of the known constituents of the substance or on experience in handling, use and testing of the substance.

The substance is a brown to reddish brown liquid, visually viscous at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure. It is as dense as water with no expected surface active property. The substance contains constituents having different water solubilities, volatilities and octanol-water partition coefficient.

The substance is NOT classified as flammable liquid based on both Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation) and GHS. No other hazard was identified with regard to physical properties (flammability, explosivity, oxidising properties) based on Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation).

The test item is a brown to reddish brown liquid, visually viscous at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure.
Melting Point
(OECD 102/EU A1) - DSC
The melting point/range of test item was determined to be lower than -20°C (253.15 K).
Boiling Point
(OECD 103/ EU A2 - DSC method)
The initial boiling point of the substance was determined as 256.3°C at 101.3 kPa

The relative density of the test substance was 1.001 at 20.0 °C.
Granulometry
(data Waiving)

Study scientifically not necessary: Waived for liquids.
Vapour pressure
(QSAR method)
The vapour pressure of the test item based on partial pressure of known contituents is estimated to be in the range between 0.00951 and 9.37 Pa at 25°C (calculated)

Log Kow

(QSAR method)

The partition coefficients (LogKow) of the test item based on the LogKow of known constituents is estimated to be in the range between 2.29 and 6.99 (calculated)

Water solubility

(QSAR method)

The Water Solubility of the test item based on water solubility of known constituents is estimated to be in the range between 0.01295 and 2083 mg/L at 25°C (calculated)
Surface tension
(data Waiving)

Waived based on the chemical structure of constituents of the substance. Besides the substance is not intended to be used as surfactant (i.e. not a desired property)

Auto-ignition temperature
(EU A15, DIN 14522 - method S)
The auto-ignitition temperature of the test substance was determined to be 640°C at a pressure between 979 and 981 hPa

Flash point of test substance was 116.5°C at 101.3 kPa.

NOT flammable substance.

Flammable on Ignition

(data Waiving)

Study technically not feasible: Waived for liquids. Please refer to Flash Point for liquid.

Flammability air
(data Waiving)

Study scientifically not necessary: Waived based on experience in handling and use and chemical structure of constituents of the substance

NOT flammable if contact with air.

Flammabily water
(data Waiving)

Study scientifically not necessary: Waived based on experience in handling, use and testing and on chemical structure of constituents of the substance.

NOT flammable if contact with  water.

Self-heating substances
(data Waiving)

Study scientifically not necessary: Waived based on the chemical structure of constituents of the substance and because the substance is a liquid. The surface of liquids is not large enough for reaction with air. Liquids, unless adsorbed, are not classified as self-heating.

NOT self-heating substance.

Explosive properties
(data Waiving)

Study scientifically not necessary: Waived based on the chemical structure of constituents of the substance.

NO potential for explosive properties.

Oxidising properties
(data Waiving)

Study scientifically not necessary: based on the chemical structure of constituents of the substance.

NO potential for oxidizing properties.
