Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The Registration material has not been tested for hydrolysis as it is not possible when a material has such a low water solubility. It is considered unlikely, however, that the material will hydrolyse to any significant extent under test conditions. A structurally similar material (EC: 434 -650 -5) has been tested for biodegradation in screening tests and in fish bioaccumulation tests, and all results are considered equally appropriate for the Registration material which is almost identical in structure. The results of these tests showed little biodegradation occurring under test conditions, but also no significant bioaccumulation potential. In a GLP study conducted in general agreement with OECD Guideline 121, the adsorption coefficient of read-across material EC# 434-650-5, determined as log Koc by HPLC, was greater than 5.63.

All of these data suggest that the Registration material will not degrade under environmental conditions, will adsorb to soil, sediment or particulate matter, but will not bioaccumulate in organisms to any significant extent.

For discussion of read-across rationale please refer to read-across to EC#434-650-5 justification document.
