Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures
General advice
If symptoms persist, call a physician.
If inhaled IF INHALED: If breathing is difficult, remove to fresh air and keep at
rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If breathing is irregular
or stopped, administer artificial respiration. Consult a physician.
In case of skin contact
In case of contact, immediately flush skin with soap and plenty of wa-
ter. Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. If skin ir-
ritation persists, call a physician.
In case of eye contact
In case of eye contact, remove contact lens and rinse immediately
with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes.
Call a physician immediately.
If swallowed
Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Do NOT
induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately.
Notes to physician
Hazards: The product causes irritation of eyes, skin and mucous membranes.
Symptoms: Breathing difficulties, Daze, Vomiting, Irritation and corrosion.
Treatment: Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media
Dry powder, Foam, Water spray, Carbon dioxide (CO2).
Extinguishing media which mustnot be used for safety reasons
Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Special exposure hazards arising from the substance or prepara-
tion itself, its combustion products, or released gases
Hydrogen chloride gas, carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide (CO2).
Advice for firefighters
Special protective equipment for firefighting
Personal protection through wearing a tightly closed chemical protec-
tion suit and a self-contained breathing apparatus.
Additional information on firefighting
Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water cours-
es. Remove all sources of ignition. Pay attention to flashback. Stay
upwind/keep distance from source. Keep containers and surround-
ings cool with water spray.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Personal precautions
Remove all sources of ignition. Wear respiratory protection. Avoid
breathing vapors, mist or gas. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and
clothing. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak. Use per-
sonal protective equipment. Keep away from open flames, hot sur-
faces and sources of ignition.
Environmental precautions
Environmental precautions
Avoid subsoil penetration. Contact with water liberates toxic gas. Pre-
vent spreading over a wide area (e.g. by containment or oil barriers).
Suppress (knock down) gases/vapours/mists with a water spray jet.
Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Retain and
dispose of contaminated wash water. Keep away from heat, sparks
and open flame. - No smoking.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Methods for cleaning up Contain spillage, and then collect with non-combustible absorbent
material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and place
in container for disposal according to local / national regulations.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling
Advice on safe handling
Keep container tightly closed. Open drum carefully as content may be
under pressure. Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited
in the application area. Do not breathe vapours or spray mist. Avoid
moisture. Wash hands and face before breaks and immediately af-
ter handling the product. Take precautionary measures against static
discharges.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion
In case of mist, spray or aerosol exposure wear suitable personal res-
piratory protection and protective suit. Preparation may charge elec-
trostatically: always use earthing leads when transferring from one
container to another. Vapours may form explosive mixture with air.
Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Storage space and container requirements
Keep in an area equipped with acid resistant flooring. Keep container
tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.

General protective and hygiene measures
Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the applica-
tion area. Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.
Avoid breathing vapors, mist or gas. Wash hands and face before
breaks and immediately after handling the product. Avoid contact
with skin, eyes and clothing. Keep away from food, drink and animal
feedingstuffs.
Stability and reactivity
Incompatible materials
Materials to avoid Alcohols, humid air and water, Oxidizing agents, Reducing agents,
Strong bases, Strong acids.
Hazardous decomposition products
Contact with water liberates toxic, highly flammable gas. Formaldehyde Hydrogen chloride (HCl)
Bildung von:Bischloromethyl ether
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods
Disposal considerations Can be incinerated, when in compliance with local regulations.
Uncleaned empty packaging Dispose of as unused product.
