Description of key information
The water solubility of hexagonal boron nitride has been determined to be below 1mg/L and hexagonal boron nitride is considered to be highly insoluble in water.

Hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) always contains as an impurity water-soluble diboron trioxide (B2O3), which results from the production process (boric acid as starting raw material, and oxidation of highly reactive surfaces of small micron sized particles). Therefore the real water solubility of hexagonal boron nitride is regarded to be far below 0.164 mg/l and hexagonal boron nitride is considered to be highly insoluble in water.
