Conclusion on classification

Toxicity tests for daphnia (acute) and algae are available for the substance. The EL50 and ErL50 both exceeded the nominal loading rate of 100 mg/L, the maximum loading tested. Based on the lowest EL50 for algae and daphnia, the substance does not need to be classified for acute aquatic toxicity according to Table 4.1.0 (a) of CLP.

For algae an ErL10 of >100 mg/L was derived. As only one reliable long-term toxicity endpoint is available, chronic classification needs to be derived on both acute and chronic data, and the worst case should be taken. Based on the ErL10, no classification is needed (Table 4.1.0 b(i)).

In addition, the substance is not readily biodegradable, constituents have a log Kow range of 1.3-3.9 (< 4) and since the lowest acute data point is >100 mg/L, no chronic classification is needed either (Table 4.1.0 b(iii)). The NOELR is also concluded > 1 mg/L

In conclusion, no classification for environment is needed according to EU CLP (EC 1272/2008 and its amendments).
