Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification
Classification of this substance was supported by Example F in the Guidance on the Application of the CLP Criteria, section 4.1.3.4.6, which was a similar case as this substance.
Acute aquatic hazard (Table 4.1.0(a)): Not classified in absence of adequate data (studies technically not feasible).
Long-term aquatic hazard: No adequate long-term toxicity data are available for all three trophic levels. There are nevertheless grounds for concern based on the following findings:
- Water solubility is unknown (study technically not feasible due to fast hydrolysis);
- No acute aquatic toxicity studies available (studies technically not feasible due to fast hydrolysis and subsequent formation of a complex mixture of variable high molecular weight products);
- Not readily biodegradable (based on the parent substance);
- No information available on the hydrolysis products and their reaction products, and hence the dataset is not decisive whether these fulfil the criteria for classification as hazardous to the aquatic environment.
Therefore, the 'safety net' classification category Chronic 4 (Table 4.1.0(b)) should be applied because of the large uncertainty on the fate and effects of the hydrolysis products and their reaction products.
