Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Remarks on result:
other: Boiling point not determinable; test material decomposes at temperatures above approx. 100 °C before boiling

As the boiling tube was heated, evolution of gas was noted from the body of the liquid, indicating decomposition. It was difficult to ascertain the onset of this apparent decomposition and DSC was examined to elucidate.

The DSC trace showed an endotherm at approximately 40°C due to melting of the test substance, followed by a large exotherm (onset approximately 100˚C), consistent with decomposition of the sample (which was observed to be a black solid after testing).

Description of key information

The test material decomposes above approx. 100°C before boiling (OECD 103, EU A.2)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The boiling temperature of the test material was not determinable, as the test substance decomposed at temperatures above approximately 100°C before boiling.
