Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test over 100 mm length
Burning time:
ca. 2 min
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

Any other information on results incl. tables

Interpretation: If the test item does not propagate combustion along 200 mm of the pile within the 4 minutes test period the test item is considered ‘not highly flammable’.

Results: In contact with the flame of the gas burner the test item melted and turned into a dark yellow residue. Grey smoke was observed. After removal of the ignition source, no propagation of combustion of the test item was observed.

Conclusion: The preliminary screening test was performed for the determination of the flammability of the test item. No propagation of combustion of the test item along 200 mm length of the pile within 4 minutes was observed. According to the guidelines, performance of the burning rate test is not required. Based on the results obtained, the test item is considered ‘not highly flammable’.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The test item is considered ‘not highly flammable’ based on the preliminary screening test was performed for the determination of the flammability of the test item. If the test item does not propagate combustion along 200 mm of the pile within the 4 minutes test period the test item is considered ‘not highly flammable’.
Executive summary:

The test item is considered ‘not highly flammable’ based on the preliminary screening test was performed for the determination of the flammability of the test item. If the test item does not propagate combustion along 200 mm of the pile within the 4 minutes test period the test item is considered ‘not highly flammable’.
