Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The test substance demonstrated low biodegradation, however the test was run at a concentration far above the limit of solubility and therefore it was unlikely to have been available for biodegradation. No conclusion can be drawn based on the available data.

The bioaccumulation endpoint is not required for substances whose annual use is between 10 to 100 tonnage (Annex VIII), but an assessment is required for the purposes of this PBT assessment. The log Kow of the test substance has been measured at 4.7, indicating potential bioaccumulation. In order to provide a rapid assessment of bioaccumulation, the test substance was evaluated using QSAR program EpiWeb version 4.1 BCFBAF model.  Based on this the test substance is not predicted to accumulate in the aquatic environment (Log BCF = 2.183 or BCF = 152.4 l/kg) as the predicted BCF is below the bioaccumulation (B) criterion of 2,000.  It is concluded that the test substance is not B or vB.

Based on ECHA Guidance Chapter R.11: PBT/vPvB , the substance is classified as Potentially T, based on an acute toxicity of <0.1mg/L EC50. The substance is however of very low solubility and is not considered to be widely bioavailable in the environment and does not indicate a potential for bioaccumulation.
