Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

One study is available investigating the biodegradation of 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propane-1,3-diyl didocosanoate (CAS 68258-72-0; Simon, 2016). The study was performed according to OECD 301F (GLP) under aerobic conditions using activated sludge from a sewage treatment plant treating predominantly domestic sewage. Two test substance concentrations of 32 and 100 mg/L, corresponding to 92 and 287 mg ThOD/L, respectively were used for testing. A biodegradation rate of 25.6 - 30.2% (O2 consumption) was observed after 28 d. Since the substance did not reach the pass level for OECD 301F (biodegradation is > 60% after 28 d, 10-day window fulfilled) the substance is not readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria.
