Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
- Inhalation: Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. If breathing is difficult, oxygen should be administered by qualified personnel. Get medical advice/attention.
- Skin: Gently wash with plenty of soap and water. Take off contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice/attention.
- Eyes: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.
- Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth. Get medical advice/attention if you feel unwell.
2) Most Important Symptoms/Effects
- Acute: Causes skin irritation. Causes serious eye irritation. May cause respiratory irritation.
- Delayed: No information on significant adverse effects.
3) Indication of Immediate Medical Attention and Special Treatment
No data available.
Note to Physicians: Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing media: Water mist, alcohol resistant foam, regular dry chemical, carbon dioxide.
- Unsuitable extinguishing media: Strong water jet.
2) Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Flammable. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking.
- Combustion: oxides of carbon, borane/boron oxides.
- Fire Fighting Measures: Use extinguishing agents appropriate for surrounding fire. Do not allow run-off from fire-fighting to enter drains or water courses. Use water spray/stream to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers.
- Protective Equipment and Precautions for Firefighters: Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothing. Wear fire/flame resistant/retardant clothing.
Accidental release measures
Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray. Ventilate affected area. Remove all sources of ignition. Evacuate area. Flammable vapors can accumulate in steam space of closed systems.
2) Environmental precautions
Avoid release to the environment. Do not allow to enter into ground-water, surface water or drains.
3) Methods and Materials for Containment and Cleaning Up
Dike for later disposal. Stop leak if safe to do so. Absorb with liquid-binding material (e.g. sand, diatomaceous earth, acid- or universal binding agents). Collect in closed and suitable containers for disposal.
Handling and storage
Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing and eye/face protection. Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray. Wash thoroughly after handling. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Use explosion-proof electrical/ventilating/lighting equipment. Ground/Bond container and receiving equipment. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Do not allow to enter into ground-water, surface water or drains.
2) Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed. Store locked up. Moisture-sensitive.
Incompatible Materials: Strong acid. Moisture-sensitive.
