Description of key information

Water solubility (OECD 105, column elution method; RL1; GLP; 2000): <0.02 mg/L (limit of determination).

Therefore, as key value the limit of determination is given (no smaller than-values possible).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
0.02 mg/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The determination of the water solubility of the submission substance was performed according to EU-method A.6 "Water Solubility" (1992) and the OECD guideline No. 105, 'Water Solubility" (adopted July 27, 1995).

During the preliminary test the water solubility of the test item at room temperature was estimated by a simplified flask method to be lower than the smallest calibration point of 0.0448 µg/mL. Therefore the column elution method was used for the performance of the main test.

During the main test six samples have been analysed in the first run (0.52 mL/min) and six samples during the second run (0.26 mL/min), each with a sampling interval of one hour. Total elution time was 92.5 hours. The quantification was performed by UV/VIS spectroscopy. The test item could not be detected in any of the eluate samples.

In conclusion, the water solubility of the submission substance at 20 °C ± 1 °C was determined to be below the limit of determination which is < 0.02 mg/L using the column elution method.
