Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
other: not irritating
Conclusions:
The average Draize scores for diisopropyl sebacate in an ocular irritation study were 2.0 at 24 and 48 hours, 0.3 at 72 hours and 0.0 at 4 days.
Based on the scores after 4 days, diisopropyl sebacate can be considered as not irritating to New Zealand White rabbit eyes.
Executive summary:

A primary ocular irritation study was conducted in 6 New Zealand White rabbits to assess the irritation potential of diisopropyl sebacate. A volume of 0.1 ml diisopropyl sebacate was instilled in to the eyes of each rabbit, which remained unwashed. The other (untreated) eye of each rabbit served as control. The ocular reactions were scored according to Draize method.

The average Draize scores were 2.0 at 24 and 48 hours, 0.3 at 72 hours and 0.0 at 4 days.

Based on the scores after 4 days, diisopropyl sebacate can be considered as not irritating to New Zealand White rabbit eyes.
