Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Toxicity to green algae predicted from a scientifically valid (Q)SAR model:
- 96h-EC50 = 0.009 mg/l (Kovarich, 2014)
- 96h-NOEC ≤ 0.004 mg/l (Kovarich, 2014)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
0.009 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
0.004 mg/L

Additional information

For the determination of the toxicity of Tetradecylamine to aquatic plants, one short-term toxicity data and one long-term toxicity data are reported from (Q)SAR predictions based on a scientifically valid model: ECOSAR. This models fulfils the characterisation criteria specified in the OECD Guidance Document on the validation of (Q)SAR models.

A short-term 96h-EC50 of 0.009 mg/l and a long-term 96h-NOEC ≤ 0.004 mg/l (ChV = 0.004 mg/l) are predicted for Tetradecylamine towards green algae; both predictions are considered reliable with restrictions (Klimisch 2) and are used a key values for the assessment.
