Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Study reports have been available for acute tests with fish, invertebrates, algae and micro-organism.

Acute fish toxicity test with Zebra fish: Based on the key study result according to OECD TG 203 under GLP compliance, LC50-96 h was determined to be 79 mg/l.

Acute Daphnia toxicity test: Based on the key study result according to OECD TG 202 under GLP compliance, the EC50-48 h was determined to be 28.1 mg/l.

Algal growth inhibition test: Based on the key study result according to OECD TG 201 under GLP compliance, The EC50 based on the growth rate was 46.9 mg/L, whereas the NOEC was set to 4.6 mg/L.

Microorganism respiration inhibition test: Based on the key study result according to OECD TG 209 under GLP compliance, the IC50 (3 h) of the test substance was above 320.0 mg/l.

In addition, a 21-day daphnia magna reproduction toxicity test is available, which showed that at 1.0 mg/L neither mortality nor effects on reproduction was observed but already at the next higher dose of 3.2 mg/L nominal all animals died during the exposure period and reproductive performance could not be assessed anymore.

Based on the results above, daphnids is most sensitive in the three aquatic species. Therefore, 28.1 mg/l (EC50-48 h) is the key value for the classification of the test substance to aquatics. Thus, the test substance is classified as Chronic Category 3 according to EU CLP (Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008) regulation which is supported by the NOEC of 1.0 mg/L and the LOEC of 3.2 mg/L resulting from the daphnia magna reproductive toxicity test.
