Description of key information
28d-EC10 of 1000 mg a.i./kg dw and 28d-EC50 of 2300 mg a.i./kg dw were determined in an OECD 216 with Dibenzoyl peroxide.

Additional information
A valid experiment has been performed in order to determine the effects of Dibenzoyl peroxide on nitrogen transformation according to OECD guideline 216 and GLP requirements (Bangert, 2015).
Sieved soil was amended with powdered plant meal and either treated with the test item or left untreated (control). The rate of nitrate formation in treated samples was compared with the rate in the controls, and the percentage deviation of the treated samples from the control was calculated. The study was performed the following nominal concentrations 300 / 600 / 1200 / 2400 / 4800 mg/kg a.i. test item dry soil. Sieved soil was exposed to the test item for 28 days. After 0 days (start of the test) and 28 days, the nitrate content of the soil of each treatment was determined. A blank control was tested.
The following concentrations showed inhibition of Nitrate production compared to the control: 4800 / 2400 / 1200 mg/kg.
The following results were determined for the active ingredient (a.i.) in the test item:
28d-EC10 = 1000 mg/kg a.i. and 28d-EC50 = 2300 mg/kg a.i. dw.
The results of the test can be considered valid.
