According to the reference, the density values can be assumed to refer to temperatures near room temperature. For this reason 20 °C was filled in as temperature.
The relative density was calculated from the value of the handbook. The value was divided by the relative density of water at 4 °C (1.000).

For the evaluation of this endpoint data from the CRC handbook were used as key information supported by information from three additional handbooks. According to the REACH regulation ("ECHA, guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment - chapter R.7.a"), it is allowed to use specific handbook data as a reliable data source. Useful reference books and data compilations containing peer reviewed physico-chemical data include the CRC handbook of Chemistry and Physics.
According to the CRC handbook, sodium sulfite has a relative density of 2.63. This value is confirmed by other references (Gmelin 2007, Kirk-Othmer 1997 and IARC Monographs on the Evaluation of Carcinogenic Risks to Humans 1992).
