The auto-ignition temperature (final result) is the result obtained after 3 cycles of measurements.

The apparatus automatically calculated the auto-ignition temperature as described in DIN EN 14522 :2005. The lowest value was retained and, in order to take into account all uncertainties (calibration, temperature measuring system, amount of substance...), this lowest value was reduced by the absolute deviation calculated using the reproducibility value (1.5% relative) as described in DIN EN 14522 :2005. To obtain the final result, this result is rounded up to the next 1°C.

Conclusions:
According to EU method A.15, auto-ignition temperature of 251°C was estimated for the test item.
Executive summary:

Auto-ignition temperature of (-)-alpha-pinene was determined according to EU method A.15. The final auto-ignition is the result obtained after 3 cycles of measurements.

The auto-ignition temperatures obtained during the 3 cycles of measurements did not differ by more than 2%, therefore the study is considered as valid.

The final auto-ignition temperature of the test item was stated as 251 °C.

The study was conducted under GLP and without deviation, this result is therefore considered as reliable without restriction.

Description of key information

Auto-ignition temperature of (-)-alpha-pinene at atmospheric pressure is 251 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
251 °C

Additional information

A well performed study was conducted according to Guideline EU A.15 and under GLP to determine the self-ignition temperature of (-)-alpha-pinene. The result was considered as reliable without restriction and is consistent with the result obtained with alpha-pinene multiconstituent.
