Description of key information

Based on the results of the study the vapour pressure of bis(2-ethylhexyl) peroxydicarbonate at 25 °C was determined as being in the range between 1.0E-03 and 1.0E-05 Pa.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.001 Pa
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

Due to properties of the substance no measurement of the vapour pressure according to guidance was possible. The study represents a summary of ACD/labs predictions, DSC measurements and calculations based on the molecular weight, extrapolated from structurally similar substances. To determine the vapour pressure of di(2-ethylhexyl)peroxydicarbonate three methods were applied:

- DSC method in combination with the calculated heat of evaporation: Pvap< 1.4 Pa

- Relation between vapour pressure and molecular weight: Pvap will be most likely in the range of 10-4 to 10-6 Pa.

- ACD/Labs calculations: Pvap = 6.4*10-4 Pa.

Based on these results the vapour pressure at 25 °C was determined as being in the range between 0.001 and 0.0001 Pa; below 0.01 Pa.
