Additional information

Acute toxicity to fish was tested for several species. The studies which were reliable and selected as key studies were conducted on trout (Salmo gairdneri) and bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus). These reported 96 hour LC50 as 75 mg/liter. Test conditions were static and test material concentrations were not measured. Effects were observed only in the highest concentration (100 mg/liter); initial pH was 3.3 in that concentration, suggesting that toxicity was related to acidity. Dilution water was soft reconstituted water (total hardness of 40 to 45 mg/liter as CaCO3) with temperatures of 12ºC (trout) and 22ºC (bluegill).
