The results of the available biodegradation studies (screening tests) are summarised below. Data indicate that tributylphosphate is readily biodegradable; one paper (Kawai et al, 1986) isolated and identified a bacterial strain (Pseudomonas diminuta) capable of degrading tributylphosphate.
