Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and
sulphur oxides together with hydrogen chloride gas and
soot. Firefighters should use a self-contained breathing
apparatus. Suitable extinguishing agents are water, carbon
dioxide and/or dry foam.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Sweep up spilt material and shovel into suitable waste
containers, taking care as above, for disposal by
incineration. Wash down the spillage site with water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Wear protective clothing (overalls), rubber gloves, safety
goggles and a particle mask. During formulation operations,
involving repeated transfers of dry material, an air
purifying respirator (eg US category 21 or North respirator
mask with RP12 disposable filter cartridges) should be
worn. Normal eyewash facilities should be available.

Storage: No special precautions; the substance is stored in sealed
containers in a dry, ventilated area at temperatures below
40 deg C.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Possible risk of respiratory sensitisation, based on
knowledge of chemically related materials.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The notifier knows of no chemical process for neutralising
the known hazardous effects.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method. Waste gas treatment should be used to
remove nitrogen and sulphur oxides and hydrogen chloride
gas.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain except as
part of an article.
