Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No experimental data evaluating the adsorption potential of Glycerides, C12-18 mono- and di- (CAS No. 91052-49-2) are available. Since the substance is a complex UVCB substance, QSAR estimations using the KOCWIN v2.00 program have been calculated for representative fatty acid components (C12 and C18 mono- and diester). Log Koc values range from 1.46 (C12 monoester) to 7.96 (C18 diester)(López Parrón, 2011). The estimated log Kow of the C18 diester component (15.07) is outside the Kow range of the training set of the log Kow method (-2.11-9.10), and therefore the obtained value should be taken with caution. This value may not be fully reliable but it indicates that a high adsorption potential can be expected. All the other values obtained with the MCI method are reliable and within the applicability domain of the calculation method (log Koc 1.46-4.83). Generally, longer fatty acid C-chain lengths and higher degrees of esterification (diester) are expected to show higher adsorption potential than shorter and monoester fatty acids, for which reliable values are available. Considering the estimated log Koc range for this substance, 1.46-7.96, high adsorption potential to solid organic particles cannot be excluded.
