Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Two studies investigating the short-term toxicity of Dihexyl adipate (CAS 110-33-8) to freshwater fish are available. Both studies were conducted under static conditions according to GLP and OECD guideline 203. However, one study used Oncorhynchus mykiss (Thompson & Griffen, 1980a) and the other study Pimephales promelas (Thompson & Griffen, 1980b) as test organism. In both studies the test material was directly added to the test vessels preparing test concentrations of 100 to 1000 mg/L using 0.66 mL/L acetone as vehicle. All test concentrations contained an oily surface film. This is considered to be negligible as in both studies no mortality was observed in any treatment throughout a test period of 96 h. Hence, the 96 h-LC50 in both studies is determined to be > 1000 mg/L based on the nominal test concentration.
