Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In an OECD 201 study, the 72 h EL50 on the growth of P. subcapitata was >100 mg/L (highest loading rate tested). The 72 h NOELR was =100 mg/L. Adjusting these EL50 and NOELR values to account for the solvent oil content (40.8%) of the test material, results in an EL50 and NOELR for the Registration substance of >59.2 mg/L and =59.2 mg/L, respectively.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
59.2 mg/L

Additional information

Testing was conducted in accordance with OECD guideline 201 and to GLP standards. Water accommodated fractions (WAF) were used due to the limited solubility of the test item. This was considered the most reliable and environmentally relevant method of testing.

No inhibition of growth was observed during the course of the study. As there was no inhibition in average specific growth rate and yield, the 72 h EL50of test material on the growth of P. subcapitata is concluded to be >100 mg/L (the highest loading rate tested). The 72 h no observed effect loading rate (NOELR) is concluded to be =100 mg/L. Both the EL50 and NOELR were adjusted to account for the solvent oil content (40.8%) of the test material; therefore the EL50 and NOELR for the Registration substance are >59.2 mg/L and =59.2 mg/L, respectively.
