Test conditions
- Hardness:
- 2.5mmol/l as CaCO3
- Test temperature:
- 21°C
- pH:
- 7.8 - 8.0
- Dissolved oxygen:
- 8.4 - 8.5mg/l
- Salinity:
- Analytical grade salts were dissolved in purified water to obtain the following nominal concentrations:
- CaCl2.2H2O: 2.0mmol/l
- MgSO4.4H2O: 0.5mmol/l
- NaHCO3: 0.75mmol/l
- KCl: 0.075mmol/l - Nominal and measured concentrations:
- Due to the limited water solubility of the test item, a supersaturated dispersion of the test item with a loading rate of 100mg/l was continuously stirred at room temperature in the dark over 48 hours. This stock dispersion was filtered and the undiluted filtrate with the maximum concentration of dissolved test item was used as the highest test medium concentration and as the stock solution for dilutions in a geometric series differing by a constant factor of 2. The analytically determined test item concentration in the analyzed test medium samples of the undiluted filtrate amounted to 0.06µg/l at the start of the test and 0.09µg/l at the end of the test. The mean measured test item concentration (calculated as the average over all measurements) was 0.07µg/l.
- Reference substance (positive control):
- yes
- Remarks:
- Potassium chromate is testsed as positive control at least once a year to demonstrate satisfactory test conditions.
