Description of key information

Key study: Based on read-across from estimation results on the analogue substance acetone oxime (EPI Suite (US EPA) v4.1 / BCFWIN v3.01), the BCF of EAC3 was estimated to be 3.162 L/Kg w/w.

Key study: Read-across approach from estimated data on analogue Acetone oxime:

The BCF of acetone oxime was estimated to be 3.162 L/Kg w/w (log BCF from regression-based method = 0.500) by BCFWIN v3.01 (EPISuite v4.1). Based on this result, the read-across was applied and the BCF of EAC3 was calculated to be 3.162 L/Kg w/w.

It should be also taken into accoun that the substance undergoes rapid hydrolysis (half-life < 1h) in aqueous to acetone oxime and ethylsilanetriol. The estimated log octanol-water partition coefficients (Log Kow) for the degradation products acetone oxime and ethylsilanetriol were estimated to be 1.20 and -1.87 (EPI-Suite, KOWWIN v1.68). According to Jaros et al (2007) the Log Kow of acetone oxime was reported to be 0.20. Morevoer, the corresponding silanols undergo continuous condensation reactions to produce higher molecular weight siloxanes which are considered biologically unavailable.

Based on the available information, the test item is determined to have low bioconcentration potential based on the properties of its degradation products.
