Description of key information

The test item showed 0.00 % respiration inhibition of activated sludge at the highest test item concentration of 1000 mg/L. An EC10 and an EC50 of >1000 mg/L were obtained in the test. The effect value relates to nominal concentration, since no analytical monitoring was performed.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
1 000 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
1 000 mg/L

Additional information

EC10 and EC50 are reported to be >1000 mg/L which was the highest test item concentration.

Information on test item

The manufacturing process of carbamic acid, (2-hydroxypropyl)-, compound with 1-amino-2-propanol (1:1) runs solvent-based in ethylene glycol and the compound has to be continuously dissolved in about 50% ethylene glycol to ensure stability. This is the only form how the active compound carbamic acid, (2-hydroxypropyl)-, compound with 1-amino-2-propanol (1:1) can be handled and this is also the only marketed form. Because of this instability toxicological investigations cannot be performed with the ‘active ingredient’ but have to be performed with the solution in ethylene glycol. The trade name of the solubilized product is Zusatzmittel 19IF00 A.
