Additional information

Since no data of acute toxicity on aquatic algae for the submission item are available, a read-across to the structural similar Hexane, 1,6-diisocyanato-, homopolymer; HDI Allophanate is used to cover this endpoint. In a GLP guideline study following EU Method C.3 (Algal Inhibition test) green algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus) were exposed for 72 hours to HDI Allophanate. Based on nominal concentrations of the water accomodated fraction (WAF), the 72-h EL50 and EL10 values for growth were determined to be above 100 mg/L (Bayer AG, 2011).
