Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

IF ON SKIN (or hair):: Remove/take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower.
IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
IF SWALLOWED: Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting.
IF INHALED: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Get medical attention if symptoms persist.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Never give liquid to an unconscious person

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media:

Water, CO2 or Foam
Extinguishing media to avoid

Avoid water in straight hose stream; will scatter and spread fire.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Avoid breathing dust or vapor.
Cool containers exposed to flames with water until well after the fire is out.

Advice for firefighters:
No specific precautions.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Contain spillages with sand, earth or any suitable adsorbent material.

Environmental precautions
There must be no release into the environment.

Methods and materials for containment and cleanup procedure
Collect with non-combustible absorbent material. Flush with water. Dike for large spills.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:
Extinguish all ignition sources. Avoid sparks, flames, heat and smoking. Ventilate.
Store in a cool, dry place with adequate ventilation. Keep away from incompatible materials, open flames, and high temperatures.
Do not breathe vapor from heated material.

Condition for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Keep only in the original container in an appropriate place.

Specific end use(s)
No specific precautions

Exposure controls

Face & eye protection:
Use safety glasses or a face shield according to Standard EN 166 and according to the hazard analysis specific to the workplace (chemical to be handled, protocol for use, frequency of use, quantity used, etc.).

Hand & skin protection:
Use chemical resistant gloves in accordance with Standard EN 374 for protective gloves against chemicals.
When prolonged or frequently repeated contact may occur, a glove with a protection class of 4 or higher (breakthrough time greater than 120 minutes according to Standard EN 374) is recommended.
When only brief contact is expected, a glove with a protection class of 1 or higher (breakthrough time greater than 10 minutes according to Standard EN 374) is recommended. Thickness > or = 0.2 mm.
Please observe the instructions regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the glove supplier.
Permeation time must exceed contact time.
Choose the type of gloves according to the chemical properties of the products being handled.
Change gloves according to the manufacturer's recommendations or if they are damaged.
Wear protective clothing covering the arms and legs. Use an apron or full suit if exposure is expected.
These recommendations must be adapted according to the hazard analysis specific to the workplace.

Respiratory protection:
Use in a well-ventilated area.
In the event that ventilation is not sufficient to prevent inhalation of substances or reduce airborne concentrations below an established occupational exposure limit, use an adequate respiratory apparatus to supplement the engineering measures already in place.
These recommendations must be adapted according to the hazard analysis specific to the workplace.

Environmental exposure controls
Discharge, treatment, or disposal may be subject to national, state, or local laws

Disposal considerations

Unusable products, out of date, residues and contaminated packaging are considered as hazardous waste according to Directive 2008/98/EC (as modified by Regulation (EU) No 1357/2014).
Therefore, they must be disposed of according to local and national rules into force. Contact a licensed company. Do not pour into drains or in the environment. Do not re-use empty containers.
Waste treatment methods
Do not release into the environment. Confirm disposal procedures with environmental engineer and local regulations
Other information
Always keep original label(s) on empty recipients (drums/pails).
