Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
If inhaled : Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm.
In case of skin contact : In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with soap and with plenty of water.
In case of eye contact : In case of contact with the eyes rinse thoroughly with plenty of water or with an eye-cleaning solution.
If swallowed : Drink water. Seek medical aid immediately and show the physician the packaging or the label of the packaging.
Do NOT induce vomiting.
Symptoms : Causes severe caustic burns to skin and eyes.
For physicians: Substance is strongly acidic. If swallowed or on skin, neutralize with anti acidic medicals. Elementary aid, decontamination and symptomatic treatment.
Fire-fighting measures
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture in case of heavy fires: hazardous combustion gases may be formed, like Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (CO2), phosphorus oxides. Under certain conditions of combustion traces of other toxic substances cannot be excluded.
Special protective equipment for firefighters: Do not inhale explosion and/or combustion gases, use self-contained breathing apparatus
Avoid skin or eye contact.
Further information : Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water should be collected and treated or disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.
Accidental release measures
Environmental precautions : Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil. Contain contaminated water/firefighting water.
Methods for cleaning up : Contain spillage, pick up with an electrically protected vacuum cleaner or by wet-brushing and transfer to a container for
disposal according to local regulations (see section 13). In case of spillage of hot melt, let cool down and collect manually. Small residual amounts can be washed away with plenty of water if waste water is collected and treated in STP.
Handling and storage
Avoid the formation and deposition of dust. Provide exhaust ventilation, if dust is formed.
Keep container tightly closed in a well-ventilated place. Protect from heat and direct sunlight.
Do not store or transport together with foodstuffs

Exposure controls / personal protection
Handle substance with care. Do not inhale dust. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Respiratory protection : If exposure to dust can not be excluded, wear dust mask. Use respiratory protection in case of insufficient exhaust ventilation or prolonged exposure.
Hand protection : Nitril-, Butyl- and PVC-gloves are suitable. Because the specification of that kind of gloves vary with the manufacturer please refer to the specification of the manufacturer to assure resistance.
Eye protection : tightly fitting safety glasses
In case of possible exposure use acid-resistant protective clothing.
Do not eat, drink or smoke during work time. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again. Garments that cannot be cleaned must be destroyed (burnt). Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages. Clean hands and face during work intervals and after work.
In case of accidental release or fire, do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil. Contain contaminated water/firefighting water.
Stability and reactivity
Materials to avoid : alkaline substances, metals.
Disposal considerations
Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste.
