Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

LC50 (14 d) = 3732.74 mg a.i./kg dw for Corophium volutator (OSPARCOM, 1995)
NOEC (14 d) = 223.62 mg a.i./kg dw

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 or LC50 for marine water sediment:
3 732.74 mg/kg sediment dw
EC10, LC10 or NOEC for marine water sediment:
223.62 mg/kg sediment dw

Additional information

The toxicity of D-Glucopyranose, oligomers, branched and linear C9-11-alkyl glycosides (CAS 157707-87-4) towards sediment organisms was investigated in a short-term study with the endobenthic marine amphipod Corophium volutator (Opus Plus Ltd., 2006). The test was performed according to GLP and OSPARCOM guideline (1995): Sediment bioassay using an amphipod Corophium sp., and nominal concentrations of 0, 14.14, 139.95, 447.24, 1387 and 13,189.85 mg/kg dw were applied. At test termination after 10 days an LC50 of 3732.74 mg a.i./kg sediment dw and a NOEC of 223.62 mg a.i./kg sediment dw resulted based on the mortality.

Long-term data do not have to be generated because of the low log Koc (-0.31 to 2.98) and the ready biodegradability of the test substance.
