Description of key information

Acute freshwater toxicity studies are available for EC# 457-320-2 or the related substance, EC# 434-650-5, across three trophic levels: algae, Daphnia and fish (two fish studies); a chronic toxicity study is also available for Daphnia. In addition, an activated sludge respiration inhibition test is available.

In each study, Water Accommodated Fractions (WAFs) of test material were used due to the poor solubility of the substances in water. The following results (presented as nominal loading rates) were obtained:

- Algae (EC# 434-650-5), 72-hour NOELR = 4.05 mg/L; 72-hour EbL50 = 9.62 mg/L; 72-hour EtL50 = 14.0 mg/L

- Daphnia (EC# 457-320-2), 48-hour LOELR = 42 mg/L; 48-hour EL50 = 50 mg/L

- Daphnia (EC# 457-320-2), 21-day NOELR = 100 mg/L

- Fish (EC# 434-650-5), 96-hour NOELR = 94.8 mg/L

- Supporting Fish (EC# 434-650-5), 96-hour NOELR = 670 mg/L; 96-hour LL50 = >670 mg/L

- Microorganisms (EC# 434-650-5), 3-hour NOELR = 100 mg/L
