First-aid measures

In all cases of doubt call a physician.

Self protection at first aid:  Avoid substance contact

In case of inhalation:

Remove person to fresh air. If required provide oxygen. If experiencing respiratory symptoms and/or feeling unwell call a physician.

In case of skin contact:

Wash with plenty of water and soap.

In case of eye contact:

Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If irritation persists consult a physician.

In case of ingestion:

Do NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water - never in case of unconsciousness. Call a doctor if you feel unwell.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, foam, sand or carbon dioxide.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: High power water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Combustible. At higher temperatures explosive mixtures with air possible. Hazardous combustion gases and vapours may occur.

Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon oxides

Advice for firefighters

Self contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective clothing required.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

For non-emergency responders: Keep ignition sources away. Provide of sufficient ventilation. Avoid breathing vapor / mist / spray. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Use personal protection equipment. Beware of vapours accumulating to form explosive concentrations.Vapours can accumulate in low areas. For emergency responders: Wear suitable protective equipment

Environmental precautions:

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains. Discharge into the environment must be avoided.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Absorb or cover with suitable liquid binding material, dry earth, sand or other non-combustible material and transfer into containers for disposal. Clean up affected area.

Handling and storage

Hygiene measures:

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs. Wash hands before break and after work. Provide sufficient ventilation and/or local exhaust system. Keep away from sources of ignition.

Protective measures:

Avoid contact with eyes.

Precautions for safe handling:

Wear suitable personal protective equipment.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion:

Usual measures for fire prevention.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:

Store cool and dry. Store away from oxidizing agents.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls

Provide sufficient ventilation and/or local exhaust system.

Protective and hygiene measures

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice: Do not eat, drink, and smoke. Wash hands before break and after work.

Respiratory protection:

In cases of insufficient ventilation, at presence of aerosols or smoke wear respiratory protective equipment. Protection mask with filter ABEK recommended in compliance with EN 141.

Hand protection:

Wear suitable gloves. (DIN EN 374)

The quality of the protective gloves resistant to chemicals must be chosen as a function of the specific working place concentration and quantity of hazardous substances. For special purposes, it is recommended to check the resistance to chemicals of the protective gloves mentioned above together with the supplier of these gloves.

Recommended glove material: Nitrile rubber; Break through time: 480 min, Material thickness: 0,4 mm

Eye protection:

Wear tightly fitting safety goggles (DIN EN 166)

Skin and body protection:

Wear impervious clothing. (DIN EN 943)

Choose suitable personal protection equipment dependent on substance concentration and amount specific for workplace. Chemical resistance should be clarified with the supplier. Chemical resistant safety shoes.

Environmental exposure controls

Do not allow to enter ground water, sewage or drains.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity

No hazardous reaction when handled and stored according to provisions.

Chemical stability

The substance is chemically stable under recommended conditions of storage, use and temperature.

Possibility of hazardous reactions

Hazardous polymerisation does not occur.

Conditions to avoid

Heat

flames and sparks

Incompatible materials

strong oxidizing agents

strong acids, strong bases

Acid chlorides, Acid anhydrides

Hazardous decomposition products

No known hazardous decomposition products.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

Advice on disposal

Chemicals and packages as waste must be disposed of in accordance with Directive 2008/98/EC and the respective national and local regulations. Consult your local or regional authorities.

Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Dispose of waste according to applicable legislation.

Contaminated packaging

Non-contaminated packages may be recycled. Handle contaminated packages in the same way as the substance itself.
