Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
see 'Principles of method if other than guideline'
Principles of method if other than guideline:
As a melting range had been determined as 235 – 242 °C under decomposition, the oven was only heated to 250 °C for the determination of self-ignition temperature and not up to 400 °C.
GLP compliance:
no

Results and discussion

Relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Remarks on result:
no self-ignition observed up to the melting point

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Self-heating of the substance up to 400°C can be excluded: The substance melts in the range of 235 - 242 °C under decomposition, no self-heating has been observed in this study up to 250°C.
