- Remarks on result:
- other: pH not reported
- Remarks:
- calculated weighted average
- Details on results:
- Calculated average log Kow of 0.4, covering the compounds (peaks) in the chromatogram contributing >/= 5 % to the test substance
- Conclusions:
- The partition coefficient (log Pow) of Becrosan 2128: Morpholine salt was determined to be 0.1 to 1.5 at a temperature of 35 ± 1°C. The calculated weighted average, based on log Kow of the distinct compounds / peaks and the area % under the peaks, was calculated to be log Kow = 0.4.
- Executive summary:
A study was performed to determine the partition coefficient (log Kow) of Becrosan 2128: Morpholine salt (salt of morpholine and a substituted carboxylic acid) using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) according to OECD Guideline 117 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), HPLC Method). No deviation from the guideline was reported and all criteria were met to satisfy test validity. A partition coefficient (log Kow) range of 0.1 to 1.5 was determined for the test substance at a temperature of 35 ± 1°C (OSPAR 1995). Interpreting the single log Kow values and area % beneath the two compounds/peaks acquired from the HPLC chromatogram for Becrosan 2128: Morpholine salt, a Pow of 0.4 was calculated based on the weighted average. As the log Kow range is <3, Becrosan 2128: Morpholine salt cannot be regarded as bioaccumulative.

Description of key information
The partition coefficient (log Pow) of Becrosan 2128: Morpholine salt was determined to be 0.1 to 1.5 at a temperature of 35 ± 1°C. The calculated weighted average, based on log Kow of the distinct compounds/peaks and the area % under the peaks, was calculated to be log Kow = 0.4.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Log Kow (Log Pow):
- 1.5
- at the temperature of:
- 35 °C
