Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

- Endpoint:
- surface tension
- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- disregarded due to major methodological deficiencies
- Study period:
- Oct. 2017 - April 2018
- Reliability:
- 3 (not reliable)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- unsuitable test system
- Justification for type of information:
- The water solubility of the test substance was determined to be 168 µg/L @ 20°C. In this study a concentration of more than 40 mg/L was specified. The water solubility in this study is in contrast to the water solubility determined in the water solubility study and the calculated partition coefficient.

TREATMENT OF TEST MATERIAL PRIOR TO TESTING

- Surface tension:
- ca. 58.12 mN/m
- Temp.:
- 20.1 °C
- Conc.:
- 43.48 mg/L
- Conclusions:
- The surface tension of an aqueous solution of Bis(neodecanoyloxy)dioctylstannane was
determined as 58.12 ± 0.15 mN/m at 20.1 °C. As these values were lower than 60 mN/m, Bis(neodecanoyloxy)dioctylstannane was classified
as surface active. - Executive summary:
The surface tension of an aqueous solution of Bis(neodecanoyloxy)dioctylstannane was
determined as 58.12 ± 0.15 mN/m at 20.1 °C. One measurement was performed for verification
(after 60 minutes). No significant changes and thus no significant dependence on
time was observed.
As these values were lower than 60 mN/m, Bis(neodecanoyloxy)dioctylstannane was classified
as surface active.
The surface tension of the negative control lay within the accepted range.
The concentration of the test item in the 90% saturated test solution was determined to be
43.48 mg test item/L (based on analysis of dissolved organic carbon in the test solution).
The saturated solution was obtained from an aqueous solution prepared with 1.00 g/L of
test item by shaking for 24 hours at 19.0 – 20.8 °C in a Schott-flask at 150 rpm.
